Heroes in Wayang Kulit

Wayang kulit (leather puppet) is the most popular traditional performance in a lot of area in javanese, especially in the center area (Jawa Tengah). For a lot of cultural ceremony, such as birth, circumcision, marriage, and harvest wayang kulit is popular performance to hold. A lot of people will come to see it and many seller will arrive to, especially food seller.. so perhaps it similar with social gathering in antropological term. Wayang kulit consist of a screen as microcosmos called kelir which reflect macrocosmos as real life; blencong as traditional lighting above kelir; a set of leather puppets in left and right side of kelir which is left side represent antagonist role or evil side and right side represent of protagonist role or good side; dalang as story teller; and a set of gamelan with its players as traditional music accompany the leather puppet performance. Audience will watch wayang kulit not from the front which can see 3D leather puppets, but from the back which only see the shadow of puppets on screen. It means that wayang kulit is symbolize many things happened in the real life.

Wayang kulit commonly watched by ordinary people but this time i'd like to mix ordinary people and superheroes. In pictures you may see the kelir, a set of puppets, and slow but sure the audience came.. start with Mr. Fantastic as dalang, Human Torch as blencong above and Spider-Man and Cyclops as acapella gamelan players. One by one another superheroes come, which is Electro, E.T., and DareDevil, then a bit later.. The Thing, Hulk, WarMachine, and SavageDragon.
